How to Remove Jailbreak from your iPhone

There are many reasons why someone will want to unjailbreak or remove jailbreak from his iPhone. So you Jailbroke your iPhone to install some awesome tweaks or wanted to have unsigned ios Apps. Now you found that the Jailbreak is unstable or caused serious issues in your device, and you want to remove it, then here is the step by step guide on how to do it. When Apple releases a new IOS update with some awesome features, then many users want to update to new version to have those features. If you have a Jailbroken iPhone then you cannot update your iPhone Over the Air (OTA). Here I am posting a step by step guide on how to unjailbreak your iPhone.

Remove Jailbreak from your iPhone.

1- Remove Jailbreak using iTunes.

The best way to completely free your iPhone from Jailbreak is to restore it using iTunes. This will completely remove Jailbreak from your iPhone and will also install the latest IOS version available at that time. It doesn’t matter which IOS version or which iPhone you are using. Restoring your iPhone removes any jailbreak from your iPhone.

How to restore your iPhone?

Before you restore your iPhone, make sure you back up all data in iTunes. Because restoring your iPhone will erase all data from your iPhone or iPad. 2- Using the unc0ver or Chimera app.

Remove Jailbreak from IOS 12, 12.2, 12.4.

This method works only if you have Jailbreak your iPhone using one of the above mentioned apps. No computer or macbook needed in order to remove jailbreak from your iPhone using this method. It works for IOS 12, 12.2, and 12.4. as only these ios versions are supported by unc0ver and Chimera app.

Note: This method may not remove Jailbreak completely and OTA ios updates may still not work fine. The best way in order to install new IOS version, is restoring your iDevice.

Steps:

  • Insatll unc0ver or Chimera app again. Use the same app which you used to Jailbreak your IOS Device.
  • Open App and click on Settings.
  • Uncheck all options, and turn on Restore RootFS, and click Done.
Remove Jailbreak from your iPhone
  • Click on “Restore RootFS”, it will start restoring.
Unjailbreak your iPhone
  • After a few seconds, it will show a alert that “RootFS has been successfully restored. This device will now be restarted”. Click OK. and the device will reboot.

You can see that Cydia is no longer available on your device. And all active tweaks are themes also removed. It means the operation was successful and it removed Jailbreak from your iPhone or iPad. To be mentioed again this method works on IOS 12 only.
